I have added photos from the 2008 Officers Installation Dinner and I’m waiting on some more to come in, if you have any can you please e-mail them to me or give them to me at the Ridgeley Legion and i will add these. I have also added photos from karaoke (50s night) and a few other random karaoke photos i had on my camera. I am needing photos and information from the Benefit we just held the first of July as well as some other information and as soon as i get that ill be updating this site again.
The Ridgeley American Legion Post 136 donated $500.00 to Bi-State Baseball League for local teams, got some really great t-shirts!!
ALOT of things need to be updated on this blog, but I wanted to send in a quick note that the Newsletter for April 2008 has been just sent in to the printers so it should be out in the post mid-week, next week!
I will be updating pictures from Halloween, children’s Christmas party and New Years eve as well , so hang tight and have a great day!
Just a note to let you know that I have updated the Legion Officials page and the S.A.L. page and have added the Ladies Auxiliary officers page as well as updated the upcoming Family Picnic page.
Newsletters will be going out the first of next week, in the meantime why not stop in at Post 136 and sign up for the Family Picnic which will be held on Sept 15th you can read more about that by clicking here. You must be signed up by Sept 1st so we can get a count of who all is attending and how much food that needs to be prepared.

An officers installation dinner will be held Friday, June 22, 2007.
Social Hour will begin at 5pm and end at 6pm
Installation of Officers will begin at 6pm and end at 7pm
Dinner will begin at 7pm and finish at 8pm
Enjoy the rest of your evening with karaoke from 9pm-2am.

Then you missed an amazing Mothers Day dinner! The Legion put on a feast so good any mother would be proud to have these boys as their sons. Their hard work and love was much appreciated that day by over 50 Mothers and guests.
This Sunday the 13th, the Ridgeley American Legion will be holding a Mothers Day Dinner for all members and their mothers. Bring in your mother for a complimentary dinner and free Pink 2007-2008 pocket calendar supporting Breast Cancer Awareness.

A donation was made to Ray Dixon, Chairman for the Fort Ohio Fund in the amount of $450.00 this past winter ‘07 by the American Legion, Ridgeley West Virginia, Post 136.
What Fort Ohio was, according to local historian Gary Clites, is the first civilization in this area, built by a private venture in 1750. Prior to that, the closest settlement was 13 miles away, in Oldtown, which was settled about 1740.

This past Friday, December 15th, 2006; The Ridgeley American Legion held their annual Christmas Party. Several members and their significant others’ attended the dinner that night for Social Hour at 6pm which was followed by an amazing dinner created by the loving hands of the Ladies Auxiliary at 7pm.
